January 30, 2010As many of our readers know, we keep track of every penny we spend and post it on this website to assist those concerned with the costs of living the Full-Time RV lifestyle. To help further our goal, we just created a new "overview" page that explains how we break down our expenses. It's called Understanding Our Full-Timing Costs.In addition, we have been diligent about reporting our "Basic Living Expenses", those recurring expenses of every day life on the road, but we haven't summarized our other larger, one-time expenses ... until now. Even though those expenses are mostly discretionary, we feel it is important that our readers can easily see our full financial picture. Therefore, we have just created the Major One-Time Expenses page. Hopefully, these two new pages will provide additional information that is helpful in determining the costs of full-timing. January 27, 2010As of December 31, 2009, we have been on the road as Full-time RVers for four and a half years - 53 months to be exact. During that time we have kept track of every penny of expenses.So we thought it would be helpful to future full-timers to analyze our expenses and come up with averages during our entire time on the road. Four and a half years should give us some pretty good trends. Therefore, we have prepared Our 2005 - 2009 Full-time RVing Average Expenses page. That page gives us monthly averages, annualized averages, and compares expenses for months we workamped against months we didn't workamp and just traveled. January 5, 2010Our 2009 Actual Expenses page has been updated through December. In addition to showing all the expenses for the year, that page also includes a summary of the expenses compared to the 2009 budget.Also, Our 2009 Business Summary page has been updated through December. July 15, 2009RV-Dreams.com now has a Facebook Page. So, if you are a member of Facebook, we invite you become a "Fan". Otherwise it will take you to the Facebook sign-up or login page. August 23, 2008Today we set up two new pages.First, we have the RV Electrical Systems page. We knew nothing about our electrical systems when we bought our rig and went on the road in 2005. This page is an attempt to educate others based on what we've learned and what I've researched over the years. It starts with very basic information and gradually leads to more detailed, technical information on RV electrical systems. Hopefully, we've put all of it in an easy-to-understand format. Second, we added a page detailing Our Electrical System. This page starts from the time we ordered our fifth wheel and goes through the addition of solar panels three years later. The page provides details on modifications we have made, why we made them, and how much they cost. June 22, 2007On this date we launched the RV-Dreams Chat Room.We felt that a live chat room helps round out the ability of the RV-Dreams Family to correspond and learn from each other. At some point we will do live online scheduled discussions on specific topics. The chat room will be a valuable addition in our goal to help and continue to educate our wonderful readers. We look forward to your participation!
