This is the page for our 2015 Fall Educational Rally to be held in Northern Michigan near Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in early October
For Fall 2015, we are working with Lake Leelanau RV Park, a family-owned and operated lakefront RV park in Lake Leelanau, Michigan.
The itinerary includes several seminars from Linda & I based on our nine years of experience as full-timers, our own research, interviews with other full-timers, and the wealth of information from our Forum. Below you will find a preliminary itinerary.
In addition to educational seminars, we will have other activities such as rig walk-throughs, three catered dinners, a potluck, a full farewell breakfast, entertainment, and lots more!
Come join us at The Lake Leelanau RV Park in Lake Leelanau, Michigan near Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
We are partnering with the Lake Leelanau RV Park to provide our website visitors, Journal readers, and Forum members - our RV-Dreams Family - with a great location to come together for RV education and a little fellowship as well.
We have set aside 50 RV sites, although we only expect 25 - 30 rigs. The RV sites offer:
Lake Leelanau is a 21-mile, beautiful inland lake in the northwestern corner of Michigan's "lower peninsula".
We should be fine with the weather in the first week of October with average highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s. It will be great campfire weather on the lake.
Note: This Rally is on our usual Tuesday - Sunday schedule. Also, check back frequently as we often add seminars/events and change the schedule slightly
Though much of the content is geared toward the education of full-timers and future full-timers, everyone is welcome and we guarantee even the most part-time RVer will learn something and have a great time. :)

Call the Lake Leelanau RV Park at 231-256-7236 to make your reservation after you have registered. We will be cross-checking registrations with reservations as we go.
Pre & Post Rally Camping
The RV Park will allow you to come in early or stay late (on a space-available basis) at the Rally rate of $35 per night. Since the peak season ends in September, there will be a good chance that they have sites available, but you may have to change sites depending on how early you arrive.
For those not bringing an RV, there are few hotels, cottage rentals, and B & Bs within fifteen to twenty minutes of the RV Park. Here is a link to the Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.
It will be the off-season in that area, so posted rates may be higher than actual rates that time of year. Be sure to call to check pricing and availability.
Here are some suggestions from Lake Leelanau RV Park (links, phone numbers, & distances to the RV park):
Rally T-Shirts (Optional) - $15 Each
We will be ordering Rally T-shirts based on your selections during the registration process. Those that pre-order T-shirts will be able to pick them up and pay for them at registration on September 16. Please do NOT pre-pay for the shirts with your registration. Note: We won't be ordering many extra shirts, so the only way to guarantee you get one is to pre-order.
Here are sample T-shirt designs from the last two rallies.
About two weeks prior to the Rally, we will send an email letter to all registered attendees providing details about what to expect.
An RV-Dreams Rally includes a great mixture of experienced full-timers, new full-timers, savvy RVers, wannabe full-timers, and folks just exploring their options. The time before and after the Rally and the other times spent with other attendees can be as fun and informative as the scheduled activities. Life long friends are made at these Rallies and that's one of the reasons why we have return guests every time. :)
